NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 16 – Detectives on Friday arrested two Chinese nationals found with 800 litres of methanol and over 3,000 litres of illicit brew – Chang’aa and Busaa.

Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti said the two were arrested at their residence in Green Park Estate in Machakos County.

The detectives also found a liquor processing plant in the homestead.

Also recovered were several sacks of sorghum and rice, drums of sorghum mixture that were fermenting, as well as several water tanks.

They will be charged in court on Monday.

“The two are in custody and recoveries secured as Exhibits,” the DCI said in a post made on the directorate’s social media platform.

Police are also seeking to establish whether the local brew recovered from the suspects’ house is fit for human consumption.
