NAIROBI, Kenya, May 2 – Police have arrested five suspects linked to the killing of Chuka Officer Commanding Station Joseph Kinyua and an area chief.
The OCS was hacked to death during a manhunt for suspects implicated in the murder of chief Japhet Mayau Mukengu.
According to a police report seen by Capital FM News, OCS Kinyua was hacked several times on the head, just outside the main’s suspect butchery.
The suspect was in the process shot dead while police fired 42 rounds of ammunition in the air in a bid to disperse the irate crowd.
The OCS was part of a 13-member team that was overwhelmed by the mob.
Already a team of General Service Unit officers has been deployed in Kamaindi village, where the incident occurred in a bid to hunt down more of those involved.
