NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 10 – The Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital (MLKH) is to benefit from Sh5 million sponsorship from the UAP Old Mutual Faulu Foundation, which will go towards purchasing a Queue Management System (QMS).

Long waiting time before patients see a specialist, receive consultation and access the associated procedures has been endemic at the health facility, a situation that will be resolved under the new pact.

The platform will help the hospital efficiently manage its patients, aid in data collection, assist in record keeping and data retrieval process.

MLKH Management Board, Chairperson Joe Aketch expressed his appreciation saying the QMS will enhance service delivery.

“We would like thank our partners for this sponsorship and we believe it will go a long way in improving service to the community, as the machine will improve the hospital’s queuing process.”

The QMS will create efficiency and improve management of the hospital through better reporting for the facility, which receives up to 1500 patients daily.

“We believe this will create value especially with the expansion project the hospital is currently implementing under the sponsorship of the Nairobi City County Government,” the Foundation Chairperson, Chancellor Peter Wanyaga Muthoka stated.

MLKH is the first public hospital to receive a queuing system, which is set to also improve dispensation of services effectively.

The system will also provide audio-visual means for directing patients and a user-friendly interface for the hospital to manage the queues.

The QMS will provide useful tools for the management to control the level of service and generate performance statistics.
