Nyong’o says his administration is working closely with development partners to source for funding for the realization of the centre.

Speaking in Kisumu during the groundbreaking of the project at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Governor Nyong’o says once completed, the centre will offer a range of cancer treatments only found in Nairobi and outside the country.

He says cancer patients in the country are facing challenges in accessing radio therapy treatment due to limited hospital facilities.

The Governor noted that a number of patients lose their lives not that they had to die but because of lack of enough medical facilities handling cancer in the country.
